FAQ: Internship Program
-
To the Pittsburgh region, yes, but over 30 major US cities have a high school where internships are part of the curriculum, including Cleveland, Philadelphia, and Cincinnati. Nazareth Prep’s students will graduate in four years like those at a traditional high school but with the advantage of having four years of invaluable exposure to a variety of corporate environments.
-
Nazareth Prep has a waiver from the Department of Labor allowing students age 14 and older to participate in the internship program. The student is NOT an employee of the internship partner. We handle all paperwork, provide all insurance and transportation, and administer a mandatory drug screen at the start of each school year.
-
While each internship varies, most companies have the students rotate through different departments, gaining hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to diverse roles within the organization. Students often work in areas such as human resources, marketing, IT, finance, and administrative services.

Students are transported to their workplace by 9:30 a.m. and are picked up before 3 p.m. Internships begin in September and end in May with holidays off.
