Hours: 10-15 hours a week, Monday- Thursday, some Fridays. 10-month education calendar.

The Tutor Role
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Academic Tutors to join our Extended Day Program. This role is pivotal in providing individualized academic support to students, helping them bridge skill gaps and excel academically. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in high school subject matter, coupled with a keen ability to diagnose student needs and tailor instruction accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions in math and other subjects for students in the extended day program.
Develop and implement customized lesson plans, utilizing effective strategies to address individual student learning styles and needs.
Employ provided diagnostic assessments to accurately identify skill gaps and develop targeted interventions.
Provide focused remediation to help students achieve grade-level proficiency while maintaining a forward-looking approach to curriculum.
Challenge and inspire students who demonstrate advanced abilities, offering enrichment opportunities to foster continued growth.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and specific feedback to students, parents, and program coordinators.
Cultivate a supportive and engaging learning environment that builds student confidence and fosters academic growth.
Collaborate with other tutors and program staff to share best practices and strategies for effective instruction.
Maintain detailed records of student attendance, progress, and session notes.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in tutoring or teaching, ideally in a one-on-one or small group setting.
Strong foundational knowledge of math and other core subjects through high school levels and beyond.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with students.
Demonstrated skill in adapting teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed academically.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to commit to the program schedule of Monday-Thursday, 2:45 PM / 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Preferred Qualifications:
Subject-matter expertise and tutoring experience.
Experience working in an extended day or after-school program.
Familiarity with educational technology and online learning applications.

Pay Range: $25 per hour
