Nazareth Prep Interns Tour UPMC with Sterile Vision

Nazareth Prep interns visited UPMC for a kickoff tour with Sterile Vision co-founders Stephen Canton, MD and Dukens LaBaze, MD, as well as UPMC Orthopaedics Chairman, Dr. MaCalus Hogan. During their visit, the interns were briefed on the history and mission of Sterile Vision, reviewed video tutorials, and witnessed the surgical tool sterilization cycle firsthand.

Sterile Vision is a start-up company specializing in tool optimization, using optical tracking and artificial intelligence. The student team will build full-scale operating mockups then assist with building optical tracking procedures. The optical files generated will then be processed with tool recognition software.
