Tribute to Franco Harris

Franco Harris, long-time friend and supporter of Holy Family Institute and Nazareth Prep has passed away at age 72.

Although he will always be remembered for the “Immaculate Reception," the greatest play in NFL history, Franco Harris was a long-time friend and supporter of Holy Family Institute. He was a Hall of Fame player who stopped by unannounced to make a donation at Christmas, attended Nazareth Prep high school's graduation quietly and without fanfare, and always responded with "How can I help?" when called.

Most recently Franco was the featured speaker at Holy Family Institute’s 30th Anniversary Courage House awards luncheon. He was attentive to everyone who wanted to say hello, shake his hand, ask for an autograph, or share a personal story. Franco, with Dana at his side, gave his time, his strength, and his charity. Franco will be missed, but he will not be forgotten. His kindness and generosity will endure on our campus and in our hearts.

We offer deepest condolences to his wife Dana Dokmanovich and their son, Dok.
