JOB POSTING: Long-Term Substitute Part-Time Spanish Teacher (Honors Spanish 1 & 2)
Reports to: Head of School
Hours: Part-Time, 10-month position (present - mid-June 2025). Some evenings and weekends for special events.

We are one of Pittsburgh’s largest social service organizations operating 15 programs in three counties. We are an independent organization guided by Catholic Social Teachings and serving people of all faiths and backgrounds.
Nazareth Prep High School is seeking a highly motivated and qualified part-time Spanish teacher to join our World Languages department for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year (present - mid-June 2025). This is a unique opportunity with the potential for future part-time or full-time employment.
Course Responsibilities
Teach one section of Honors Spanish 1 and one section of Honors Spanish 2 to students in grades 10-12.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that foster language acquisition and cultural understanding.
Cultivate students' proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Spanish.
Provide targeted instruction and support to meet the needs of honors-level students.
Assess student progress through various methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, and presentations.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
Integrate cultural components into language instruction, promoting awareness and appreciation of diverse Hispanic cultures.
Prepare students to continue to advanced levels of Spanish.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Spanish, World Languages, Education, or a related field (required).
Experience teaching high school Spanish (preferred).
Strong understanding of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and culture.
Ability to effectively engage and motivate high school students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for fostering a love of language learning.
Commitment to student success and academic achievement.
Current Act 33/34 and FBI clearances with a valid PA driver’s license required.
